Castleton University hosts the first mix of 2019 at the Spartan Arena at the Diamond Run Mall. This month's theme is all about health and wellness. The ice rink will be open exclusively for RYP with free skating and rentals! Please be sure to dress warm as it can be chilly in the arena. Castleton will be providing appetizers and a cash bar.

Rutland Rocks Curling Club (RRCC) is excited to curl up with RYP for the second annual meet-up! Thanks to Maple Leaf Clinic of Wallingford and Campbell Plaster & Iron of West Rutland for their generous support of this event.
Beginning off the ice in the warm room at Giorgetti Arena you will learn the basic rules, etiquette, and strategy of curling along with techniques for delivering and sweeping the stone. You’ll then get to practice your new skills on the ice by playing an abbreviated game.
Wear clean, rubber-soled shoes and comfortable, movable, weather-appropriate clothing. (No one will blink if you choose to wear a helmet too!)
After the game, come warm up with us at Strangefellows Pub for “broomstacking.” During this traditional après-curling event, the winning team customarily buys the losing team the first drinks (and the losing team reciprocates the next round). In this case, our sponsors have bought you a drink ticket and a taco bar—included in the low $15 ticket price!
BONUS: This counts as the Learn to Curl course required join Rutland Rocks and curl in our Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday leagues...a $20 value (club membership dues still apply)!
December is the time of year when we give back to our community. That's why our monthly Mix will take place at the College of St. Joseph (in the Giorgetti Library) in part with the Gift of Life Marathon blood drive on December 20th from 6-8pm. We'll hear from Steve Costello, organizer of the Gift of Life Marathon, who will share some history about the blood drive. Local resident Dawn Hill will also tell her personal story about the difference that blood donations can make.
If you're interested in donating blood, the drive will take place from 10-6 on Thursday, December 20 and Friday, December 21. Please consider signing up for a donation time here and helping to save a life! We’ll also have a sign-up sheet at the mix.
Cash donations will be accepted for the American Red Cross in place of door prizes.

Join us OUTSIDE, in conjunction with Rutland Region Chamber of Commerce, for our September Mix at Casella Construction! John Casella II and Joseph Casella will share details about their upcoming annual October fundraiser, Wheels for Warmth, as well as a look into the world of Casella Construction.
Join us in Proctor for a leisurely paddle from the Proctor Falls down the meandering Otter Creek to Gorham Bridge. Paddle past tranquil farm country and maybe even see a titular otter. The downstream trip will take about half an hour at a leisurely pace while the upstream trip will take about 45 minutes and will be a little more of a workout. Afterwards, we can all meet up at Franklin's for a beverage and appetizers.
This event will be dependent upon the weather, the river level, the current, and whether or not there have been any recent combined sewer overflows. Participants must bring their own kayak or canoe, life vest, paddle, and transportation to and from.
Location Details: Proctor Falls recreation area off of Patch St. Park in the parking area and bring your canoe or kayak to the beach area to launch.
